Activity Meters for Heat Detection and Health Monitoring Discussion

February 15, 2019 @ 9:30 am - 1:00 pm

Come along and hear about the findings from our Far North Queensland Regional Group’s Automated Heat Detection project. The project involved an independent evaluation of the benefits and changes in reproductive performance in a dairy herd following installation of a SCR Heatime HR System.
Dr Bill Tranter will facilitate the discussion and will cover the following topics:
• How activity meters work in practice to assist with heat detection and identifying sick cows
• Changes in herd reproductive performance achieved following installation of activity meters on David and Tonia Daley’s farm at Millaa Millaa
• Evaluation of the economic benefits of improved herd performance using activity meters
• Comparison of the costs of installing activity meters with other systems of heat detection
Joe Holloway from Semex will attend the day. Joe is the ai24 solutions manager for Semex who market SCR Heatime

Please RSVP to Jo Srhoj by Wednesday 13th February on 0458 065 695 or jo@subtropicaldairy.com.au
